To show gratitude to Allah the Almighty for His blessings upon us at the auspicious occasion of Lajna Ima’illah centenary in 2022, Lajna UK has pledged to build a maternity hospital to help our sisters in Sierra Leone.
It is estimated that for every 100,000 live births, 1360 mothers die due to complications during or after child birth. The death rate in Sierra Leone is equivalent to 8 maternal deaths a day.
This maternity hospital will serve our vulnerable and needy sisters who are deprived of even the basic medical needs which we are fortunate enough to have.
