Assalamo Alaikum,

We are pleased to introduce you to Mothers Hub, this is a new platform to enable mothers of children up to the age of seven years old to share their experiences and in particular share hints and tips to support mothers with the upbringing and tarbiyyat of their young children.  Early childhood is the most important period of a child’s life in shaping their knowledge, understanding and moral training.  It is a beautiful time to parent and time that is missed as children grow up and become adults.  However, it can also be the most testing of times for some, in particular the overwhelming tiredness that can be felt when juggling parenting with other household commitments.

It can sometimes feel like climbing a mountain with no end in sight and for some it can be a lonely experience.  In recent times, this has been compounded by the Covid-19 pandemic and the need to socially distance. Mothers are unable to attend mosques where interacting with other mothers has been a much-needed source of support but equally the loss of local playgroups and rhyme times in the local community has also created a sense of loss.
Despite some of the challenges that can be experienced it’s important to remember that motherhood is a great blessing of Allah the Almighty which comes with significant responsibility.

In the address delivered by Huzoor (aba) to Lajna Imaillah, Jalsa Salana 2017 members were able to benefit from the topic of preparing for tomorrow – raising pious children, in this address beloved Huzoor (aba) stated;

“Islam has placed the primary responsibility for training our next generation on mothers. It is women who can secure the future, not only of one generation but also of the subsequent generation. If a woman does not understand God Almighty’s commandments or does not even make an effort to understand them, then we cannot guarantee that the next generation will be morally trained.”

Our beloved Holy Prophet(sa) has pointed out the high status of a true Muslim woman. His assertion was not an emotional or trivial statement; in fact, by giving women the responsibility of reforming the next generation and securing their future in this world and the next, he has given their life purpose [and meaning]. In one sentence, he gave women the utmost status while drawing their attention to their responsibilities, by saying:

“Paradise lies under the feet of the mothers.”

It is our hope that you will find this platform where you will feel the wealth of support available from its contents and the dialogue you will have with many mothers who will feel able to share their experiences including approaches to parenting and moral training that they have found of great value.
