Waqf-e-Jadid

Purpose

Waqf-e-Jadid was launched to spread Islam and Ahmadiyyat in the remote areas of Pakistan, especially in the province of Sindh. Hazrat Khalifatul Masih II (ra) called for funds, as well as men with sound religious knowledge to volunteer their time for this noble cause.

Initially, a small number of volunteers were trained for a few months as teachers (Muallemeen) under the direct supervision of Hazrat Khalifa-tul-Masih.

As years passed, the number of volunteers increased, and then a proper training system was established. Initially, this scheme was launched to fulfil the needs of remote areas in Pakistan. Gradually, this was expanded to Africa and India. After migrating to the UK, in 1985 Hazrat Khalifa-tul-Masih IV (rh) made this scheme worldwide.

Beloved Huzoor’s Wish

Hazrat Khalifa-tul-Massih V (aba) had expressed a great wish to include children in Waqf-e-Jadidas. It plays a vital role in their tarbiyyat.

The Rates of Chanda Tehrik-e-Jadid & Waqf-e-Jadid

This is a voluntary Chanda and there is no fixed rate for it. A general rule is, whatever we pay it should reflect an element of sacrifice. We should feel that we have made some sacrifice and not just contributed some amount. Remember, to lead a simple life and save money to pay in Tehrik-e-Jadid for the spread of Islam Ahmadiyyat is the true spirit of this Tehrik.

It is also required that each member of the household including children participates.

Hazrat Musleh Maud (ra) in his speech on 28th December 1953 said,

“O, the musicians of the heavenly kingdom! Beat this drum once again so loudly that the eardrums of the world may burst! Pour your essence into blowing this trumpet! Yes, pour your essence in this trumpet with such power so that the very heavens are moved and the angels may tremble! So that your painful piercing sounds, your slogans of ‘Takbeer’, your slogans of ‘Shahadat-e-Tauheed’, may cause to bring God to earth, and the kingdom of God is established on earth once again! For this very reason I have started ‘Tehrik-e-Jadid’, and for this very reason I instruct you to devote yourselves! Come directly and join the army of God! Today, the throne of Muhammad the Messenger of Allah (saw) has been usurped by Christ. You have to snatch the throne back from Christ and present it to Muhammad the Messenger of Allah (saw); and Muhammad the Messenger of Allah (saw) has to present the throne to God; and the kingdom of Allah the Exalted has to be established on earth. So, listen to me! Follow what I say! What I am saying is being said by God! This is not my voice; I am conveying to you the voice of God!”.
