We have just gone through a month of fasting in Ramadan which is, as we all know, much more than just refraining from eating and drinking. Ramadan is the month of generosity, alms and charity. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be on him) used to give charity “like the fast wind” in the month of Ramadan.
As 2025 approaches, here in the UK there will be preparations for welcoming in the new year with fireworks and parties and reminiscing about 2024. However, for many people in the world 2024 will be a year that they would rather forget or delete from their lives.
It is in our nature to look forward to the future and to wish and hope for something better for ourselves, our families and the world at the start of the new year. There is also an element of self-reflection on our failings and achievements over the past year and we may make new year’s resolutions.
On the occasion of the start of the Lajna Centenary, Sadr Lajna UK sent a beautiful letter to all Lajna Members in the country.
As we are drawing to the end of 2020 we can pretty much say that this year has been the most significant year of our lifetime. A year that affected all of humanity alike…
